What is the difference between “pretty tired” and “very tired”?
very tired – to a high degree (rất mệt)
pretty tired – to a certain extent or fairly (khá mệt)
What is the difference between “so tired” and “very tired”?
Alone both mean basically the same thing, but if I was just sitting down after a long day I’d use “so“, it feels more natural.
Using “very” sounds like the answer to “how tired are you?”
If you want to say you’re tired /of/ something it’s more natural to use so. “I’m so tired of packing lunch everyday.”
You can also use “really” instead: “I’m really tired since I stayed up so late.”
